Last Wednesday thru Friday, June 10-12th, A few West Webster firefighters attended the annual New York State Association of Fire Chiefs (NYSAFC) conference and Fire Expo, in Syracuse, NY

Firefighters attended the Fire Expo to see new gear, equipment, technology, and techniques being used today. Along with the Fire Expo, there was classes, and hands on training in specialized fields.

Some of these fields our firefighters participated in were Advanced Vehicle Extrication, Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera Operations, First in Company Officer Responsibilities, and Structure Fires involving hoarding situations.

Be it only 3 days, they were able to pack a lot of first hand training and education in a short amount of time. Attending these conferences is a great way for firefighters to return and spread the information and techniques learned.
