At approximately 6 am a call was received by the 9-1-1 Center for a possible house on fire on Old Barn Circle in Penfield. West Webster Captain 1C52 arrived on location with smoke and fire showing from the "A" side of a 2 1/2 story house with one person waiting out front. A short time later it was relayed to responding units that there may be additional people still within the house. Captain 1C72 arrived on location and assumed command and 1C52 attempted to assist in removing the residents from the house. At just after 6 am all of the residents had been removed from the house and were out being treated by EMS for possible smoke inhalation. Webster Fire Department, Penfield Ambulance, and Southeast Quantrant ALS all provided mutual assistance to the scene of the fire and Penfield Fire provided a fill-in to our Gravel Road Station. The fire was under control about 25 minutes after initial dispatch and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
