On Thursday April 9th, West Webster Fire and EMS were dispatched to the 400 block of Lake Road for the 80 year old male fallen over the side of the cliff. Upon arrival, it was found that the patient had fallen about 30 feet down a 60 foot cliff that went into Lake Ontario. A medic line was rigged and a medic was sent over the edge to stabilize the patient. When at the patient, it was found 2 addition civilians had descended the cliff in an effort to help. Command requested a Level 0 Special Operations incident, and then after evaluating the complexity of the situation and needed manpower, the call was upgraded to a Level 1. A second rescuer rappelled to the patient and a stokes basket was lowered to the patient . The patient was packaged and removed approximately 1 hour after dispatch. One of the civilians self extricated and the third was assisted back to the top by rope rescue personnel.

The patient was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
