At approximately 6:10 pm West Webster was alerted of a call for a house with flames coming from the roof on Embury Road. Initial units arrived on scene finding a large amount of smoke coming from the roof and later discovered that flames had indeed breached the roof. Upon further investigation it was discovered that we were facing what appeared to be a attic fire. Crews quickly gained entry to the house, which was vacant at the time, while ventilation efforts were made on the roof. The interior crews were able to rapidly find the seat of the fire and extinguish it. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
