West Webster Fire District

The West Webster Fire District is bounded on the North by Lake Ontario, on the East by Whiting Road and Hard Road, on the West by Irondequoit Bay and on the South by Embury Road. The district does encompass the North and Northwest part of the Town of Penfield.

The past few years have seen a large growth in the number of residences within the West Webster Fire District. We now have over 10,000 homes which includes well over 500 businesses, protected by our fire department and the number is still growing.

Within the district, we have four residence homes for the developmentally disabled. These homes are located on Birch Lane, Hard Road, Hatch Road and Jennifer Lane. The residents of these homes have disabilities ranging from mild mental retardation to severe physical and mental developmental disabilities.

The elderly have two homes --Hill Haven Nursing Home on Empire Boulevard and the Quimby Manor apartment complex on Shoecraft Road. Soon, there will be a third new retirement center on Ridge Road - St. Ann's Homes.
