The Fire Association sponsors a Firematics Explorer Post through which young men & women interested in Firefighting careers, either paid or volunteer, can obtain training and experience in the firefighting disciplines, including EMS (Emergency Medical Services). Any Fire District resident's children 14 -18 years of age are eligible to apply for membership.

Explorers are provided training and participate in a variety of drills, including live structure fire training. When members have reached a satisfactory level of competence, they are given a pager and allowed to respond to certain categories of calls where they perform support functions for the Fire Department and observe first-hand how the Department operates.
