Marine 1216:
1977 18’ Boston Whaler Fire/Rescue Boat
250 GPM Portable Pump
1977 Boston Whaler: Initially referred to as "Fire Boat 2" the 18 foot Boston Whaler came equipped with a 55 horsepower Bearcat motor. This boat was purchased to replace the 1967 Boston Whaler which was then sold to the Ridge Culver Fire Department on the Irondequoit side of the bay. The 55 horsepower motor was replaced in 1983 by a 75 horsepower Evinrude motor. The boat was later changed to "Marine 126" to better conform with the Monroe County numbering system. It remained that way until the purchase of the current 126 when it was again renamed to "Marine 1216". This boat provides the primary fire and rescue services on Irondequoit Bay when access is limited due to water level. During the off season, this boat is towed to the launch from station 2.
