Ice water rescue training

February 24, 2020

During these winter months, West Webster trains for ice water rescue calls. Our personnel and equipment are always ready to respond to emergencies on Lake Ontario, the Irondequoit Bay, or in any of the dozens of ponds throughout our district.

Yesterday, along with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Sea Breeze Fire Department (SBFD), West Webster conducted some of this ice water training.

It was a great day for all of us to come together and cross-train with other agencies. Members performed in the water, on the ice, person-to-person rescues, and utilized our boats to conduct person-to-boat rescues.
