Fire at Hill Haven Nursing Home

During the evening hours of June 30th, West Webster with mutual assist from Laurelton Fire was dispatched for a possible fire at Hill Haven nursing home. Initial crews on scene reported being met with workers reporting a fire in the room. Once the initial crew made its way inside, they found a sprinkler head active in the room with a fire being held by the sprinkler. Once inside the room, crews removed one victim to an awaiting ambulance and who was then transported for evaluation.

Interior crews checked the room and found that there was no extension beyond the fire room. Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours. West Webster was supported on scene by Laurelton Fire, Webster Fire, Penfield Ambulance, Monroe County Sheriff's, and the Monroe County Fire Bureau. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
