Fire District - Board of Fire Commissioners

The Fire District is run by a Board of Fire Commissioners. There are five Commissioners on the board and one is elected to a five-year term of office each year. Voting for commissioners is done by the registered voters of the Fire District. Commissioners or those seeking office do not need to be members of the fire department.

The Fire Commissioners meet at a minimum monthly and are responsible for the fire protection for the residents of the fire district. The Board of Commissioners set the tax rate and authorizes the purchase of all required equipment used by the firefighters and within the facilities as well as appoints the Chief Officers.
